We offer affordable shockwave services provided by certified professionals including physiotherpists, athletic therapists and chiropractors. The fees are reasonable, and the care is encompassing. Direct billing is available if plans allow and requested by our clients. Our multidisciplinary office of therapists and doctors enable patients to select their provider of choice. We have been using shockwave therapy since 2014. Skeptical at first when the unit arrived we started using the device and now it has become our go-to when selecting a modality. We have now also purchased a second unit due to the popularity of it with our therapists.
Over time we have added numerous components that allow us to treat a variety of conditions and injuries in different ways. Please view our accessory page to see the add-ons and what they do. The most common complaint treated is easily plantar fasciitis. The second would be a shoulder impingement. Have a look at our Conditions page to see the full range of complaints commonly treated by shockwave. Clinically it can be said that the outcomes are improved significantly over traditional conservative therapies of the past. It can be argued that shockwave over time will replace many of the older conventional options.
The Cutting Edge in Conservative Therapy
Since our purchase of the first shockwave machine in 2014 and tens of millions shockwave pulses, our staff have gained valuable clinical experience in the application of shockwave and have a good sense of what works and what doesn't. Shockwave has many uses, so it's best to consult with one of our staff to see if it's right for you. You can call or email us, and we will get back to you during regular business hours.
How We Treat With Shockwave
We started treating the usual suspects such as plantar fasciitis, and shoulder impingement. Over time we have found it to be useful in many scenarios. For example, for patients experiencing spinal pain we may utilize shockwave to stimulate blood flow, manage pain symptoms and encourage the healing of tissue. The comprehensive kit we have with our machine includes spinal heads, specifically for treating neck and back issues. Furthermore, we recommend a multifaceted treatment approach. For instance, a person experiencing foot pain due to plantar fasciitis may benefit best when shockwave therapy is combined with exercises, soft tissue therapy (ART), Graston, ergonomic assessment, footwear review and education, mobilization/manipulation, shoe inserts (over the counter or custom), home instruction, and taping to list a few. In our experience, for common problems, we expect to see results in 2-3 treatment sessions. Clinically this is significant. The patient's symptoms may have resolved; therefore treatment is complete. Moreover, if good progress is measured treatment can continue, and a small group will need a new strategy or referral. Overall we have confidence when using the shockwave applicator and find it to be both safe and effective.
